Our Mission
Our goal is to teach high quality Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing and MMA in a controlled, safe and respectful environment. We help our students increase self-esteem, get fit and improve quality of life. Becoming a black belt is not an objective. It is the consequence of dedication and discipline, resulting in a healthy lifestyle.
Our History
Mario Sperry Jiu Jitsu System evolved for 30 years through Jiu Jitsu gyms, seminars, competitions and a life dedicated to martial arts. Over 10,000 students learnt Jiu Jitsu through our method with 500 becoming black belts. Many became World champions and MMA title holders. Athletes like Rodrigo Minotauro, Rogerio Minotouro, Ricardo Arona, Milton Vieira, Paulo Filho, Alister Overeem and Anderson Silva learnt from Sensei Mario Sperry.
Mario Sperry
Sensei Mario Sperry is an icon of the Jiu Jitsu community. He is a black belt under legendary Carlson Gracie. He is the main title holder of the glorious Carlson Gracie competition team. Mario Sperry is a 3x Brazilian Champion, 3x World Champion and won many ADCC championships and super fights. The NORTH AMERICAN GRAPPLING ASSOCIATION - NAGA - awareded him the "2000 FIGHTER OF THE DECADE". As a coach he founded Sul Jiu Jitsu and Brazilian Top Team (BTT). BTT was one of the top Jiu Jitsu and MMA teams in the world for many years. Currently Mario Sperry holds a 6th degree black belt in Jiu Jitsu and is also a black belt in traditional Japanese Judo.
